We were commissioned by Standard Bank South Africa to create a Virtual Reality Education and Marketing application for them. The concept that they wanted to show clients was that Smartphone banking is more convenient than going to a physical branch.
We had to come up with a concept for them that they could use to portray this message to clients at events and in some branches. Below is some information on what we did and how we developed the Virtual Reality Application from scratch.

Photorealistic 3D Model of an existing Standard Bank Branch.
As part of the Virtual Reality application development we had to recreate a Standard Bank branch in Virtual Reality. We wanted to create the application to be as realistic as possible and used our 3D Scanner to scan an existing Standard Bank branch. This allowed us to get the exact measurements and building specifications in order to recreate the bank branch in Virtual Reality.

We paid special attention to the small details. Even the furniture were 3D Modeled to look the same as the furniture inside the real bank branch.

Introduction to the Virtual Reality Banking Experience
To put the experience into context for the clients. We created a voice over. The clients got immersed into the bank. While they adjust to their new reality a voice over explained to them that they are now inside a Standard Bank branch.
They can explore the branch on their own time, walk through the branch and view the branch as if they were physically in the bank. This is made possible through high-end 6DOF virtual reality headsets like the Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift or the HTC VIVE.
Or instead of standing in queues at the bank, and wasting time to go to a physical bank they can do something fun!
Exploring the Bank in Virtual Reality
In order to make the experience ultra realistic clients could explore the bank from one side to the other. Walking or Teleporting through the bank as what they would in the real world.
Buying Electricity using the Smartphone Banking Application
To demonstrate the convenience of using Smartphone Banking we created a scenario for clients. They could go and bake a cake instead of spending their time in a physical bank branch.
Players could select the experience from inside the Virtual Reality Bank.
In this scenario they start baking a cake. There is a voice that instruct them step by step on what to do. First they have to put on the oven, then mix the ingredients together and finally place the cake into the oven. At this point the electricity of the house goes off. The house is on prepaid electricity. What do you do? Go to the Physical Bank to purchase electricity or use the Smartphone Banking application to purchase electricity.
Virtual Reality is a awesome educational tool. Through this experience we educated the clients on WHY SMARTPHONE BANKING IS MUCH MORE CONVENIENT and secondly HOW TO USE THE BANKING APPLICATION TO PURCHASE ELECTRICITY.
Send Money to a Friend or Company
Clients could choose between the Virtual Reality experiences. If you wanted to go on holiday instead of spending time in a physical branch you could. The Holiday experience took players to the Portuguese Islands in Mozambique.
While the client is on the beach, they get a Whatsapp message from their best friend asking if the client can send him money urgently.
This part of the Virtual Reality application teach clients how to download the Standard Bank application, and how to send money to a friend or client.
The client had to complete the steps, step by step on their Virtual Reality smartphone. Virtual Reality is one of the best mediums to educate and train people. It is practical and in 3D and completely interactive.
As a reward for completing the Download of the application. Clients could explore the Beach or hit Golf Balls into the ocean.
